Nothing left to Believe in...

The first thing to say is that I never really believed in anything in the first place, not in institutions anyway, not as far as they have ever affected me. But let's leave that aside for the nonce.  What I don't believe in now is even more important in that it has to do not only with me, the forgotten angry blue-collar white man, but also with everyone else. Let me describe to you a United States wherein all three branches of government are controlled by a single party that seems, as far as anyone can tell, to be completely unmoored from anything like rational principle. I give you an executive branch run by a liar, a man who has no regard whatsoever for the truth, who blabbers incoherent nonsense not as an occasional accident, but rather, as the keel with which he parts the waters of mass communication.  My chief executive is a semi-literate buffoon at best.  Only a fool would ask me to believe in him.
